USD Coin (USDC) is commonly referred to as a stablecoin, a type of cryptocurrency that is pegged to the US dollar so it doesn't experience the same type of volatility associated with traditional cryptocurrencies.
Tether (USDT) is another stablecoin, a type of cryptocurrency that is pegged to the US dollar. However, for each USDT token redeemed there is a corresponding U.S dollar held under Tether Limited.
Bitcoin (BTC) is the largest crypto-currency by market cap and the most well-known. It is known widely as a strong and secure store of value.
Ethereum (ETH) is the second largest crypto-currency by market cap. Ethereum redefined the blockchain through the applications it enables through its public digital ledger. It is still considered to be the largest decentralized software platform.
Dai is the first decentralized, collateral-backed cryptocurrency that maintains a stable 1:1 value with the US dollar. It does this by locking other crypto assets in contracts based on the Ethereum blockchain through an open-source software called the Maker Protocol.
